The Children's Village
Where Learning is Fun!
Curriculum
The Children’s Village is a full day program that believes in educating the whole child. Our curriculum starts with our very youngest of learners in our infant room and continues all the way through to our Pre-Kindergarten program. We use multiple resources to create a curriculum that will stimulate and educate your child in all learning domains such as math, language arts, science, social and emotional, social studies, dramatic arts, small motor, large motor, and health and safety
At The Children’s Village we know and understand that each child will learn at their own pace. We also recognize that many children have different learning styles. Our highly qualified teachers are trained and educated to utilize information gathered through observing, assessing and inquiring about the children’s interests to develop a curriculum that is custom tailored to suit the needs of the children in their classrooms.
The curriculum is based on the Department of Early Education and Care’s guidelines for infant, toddler and preschool learning.
In all of our classrooms we use curriculum from the Peace Education Foundation to continuously promote and teach strong social skills. The skills and values we teach build a strong foundation for your child that they will carry with them to help and prepare for public school and beyond.
We often times seek out enrichment programs to visit the center on a regular basis such as the Audubon society, story tellers, music programs, and reptile or animal programs.
We encourage parents to volunteer to help out in the classroom if they can with crafts, story telling, or simply just to come and play.
Our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten rooms use Handwriting Without Tears to help teach your child their beginning writing skills all the way through to writing sight words and short stories at the Pre- Kindergarten level.
